Following the wonderful success of the 'trial' of this event in 2015 we are going for it again !
Who would be crazy enough to organise an outside picnic in the autumn in Scotland? Well...we are!
Following the judging of the Decorated Wheelbarrow Parade, which happens on Sunday 6th November in Stanley Hill again this year (as The Cross in Dunkeld was getting a bit too crowded) we are encouraging everyone to wear their wellies and warm coats and bring a big picnic and a rug ...and enjoy an afternoon of music with songwriter Buddy MacDonald from Cape Breton in Canada, duo The Coaltown Daisies, lovely young singer Katee Kross, fabulously talented musicians from Wales The Goat Roper Rodeo Band and Perthshire's own Dougie MacLean in a truly beautiful setting!
This event is organised in conjunction with The National Trust for Scotland. The Clanrannald Medieval Village, the pipe band, an outdoor music stage and the Antonine Guard (Roman soldiers!) plus some other displays ... should make for a truly relaxing and fun afternoon for all the family.
We're encouraging businesses in Dunkeld to come up with some great picnic ideas to pick-up and take to Stanley Hill...or you can pack your own picnic at home and bring it along to enjoy!
This is a FREE event...so we're hoping for lots of folk..whatever the weather you'll be in good company. Come prepared for rain and you might just get a nice surprise!
Some photos to get you in the mood!
