The Perthshire Ensemble

The Perthshire Ensemble was first brought together in 1999 when the Perth Festival of the Arts commissioned Dougie to write a piece of music entitled “Perthshire Amber”. This was arranged for strings by Dougie and Jenny’s wonderful and talented friend… the late Kevin McCrae.

The Perthshire Ensemble is a moveable feast! It is comprised of 12 strings players (6 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 1 double bass) who are all top instrumentalists and are also members of the RSNO, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra or Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Since 1999 the Perthshire Ensemble has performed with Dougie in concert in venues and at festivals throughout Scotland ... from the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh to the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and the Perth Concert Hall during several Perthshire Amber Festivals.
