Stanley Hill, Dunkeld

Also known as ‘Schoochie Hill’, Stanley Hill consists of a landscaped and terraced mound created by the 2nd Duke of Atholl around 1730 as part of the landscaping of the estate. It is an important, man-made element of the designed landscape of Dunkeld Estate and originally formed the backdrop to an earlier residence of the Duke of Atholl. It was maintained for decorative purposes and is a prominent feature within the village of Dunkeld today.

A wonderfully atmospheric grassy area, with the tree laden mound behind and views to Dunkeld Cathedral as a backdrop for our stage, Stanley Hill is the perfect setting for our Amber Afternoon Picnic and Concert!
