Perthshire Amber 2016

This is the 12th year of our festival and promises once again to be full of wonderful concerts featuring the finest of Scotland's musical talent as well as some international guests. Our venues are as special as ever … ranging from the prestigious Perth Concert Hall to Blairgowrie Town Hall, from atmospheric castles to our historic Dunkeld Cathedral and even including an iron age Crannog on Loch Tay!

The festival dates seem a little later this year...that's because we've distilled it to a 4-day festival ... and from now on it will always be the first weekend of November. For festival goers it will be a BIG FOUR DAYS!! We're thrilled with the programme and hope we can all enjoy the changes together.

Once again we'll have lots of wonderful new artists as well as festival favourites who have become part of our 'team', with a mixture of evening concerts, Amber Afternoon concerts, Cabaret Amber, Open Mic...some great guided walks (archaeology, photography, storytelling) and lots of music sessions in pubs!

New this year is our series of Amber Cafe Concerts in three wonderfully hospitable venues...late morning or late afternoon small acoustic concerts which tie in with a concert later in the afternoon or evening. Those who choose can book in for a lovely snack or meal in between the music!

Also new is a very special event for kids which ties in with our Decorated Wheelbarrow Parade and Amber Autumn Picnic...on Sunday 6th November. Many of you will remember Artie from The Singing Kettle ... well "Artie's Tartan Tales" is something that you, your children or grandchildren won't want to miss...so book a place early!

Enjoy this website which is full of info about past festivals and what you can enjoy in 2016. Information will be added throughout the year...so keep coming back for updates.

All the Perthshire Amber team look forward to welcoming you to Perthshire in the autumn.
